About YCI

Youth Cooperation for Ideas (YCI) was registered as an international Non-Governmental Organization in August 2018 (reg.No.FORR137221180NB)/Permit No.FORP0001180NB based in Kampala, Uganda. We are dedicated to empowering urban refugee communities. Our mission is to equip refugee youth with information, knowledge, appropriate techniques, and skills that foster a positive attitude and drive sustainable change. We work in urban refugee communities where youth are grappling with drug and substance abuse, unemployment, and mental health challenges. Through our drug rehabilitation, vocational skills training, English language lessons, and mental health awareness, we aim to create a safe and supportive environment where refugee youth can rebuild their lives and contribute meaningfully to society.

Our mission

To empower the refugee community with information, knowledge, appropriate techniques and skills that enhance effective exploitation of the environment that facilitates positive attitude and change.

Our vision

To nurture a patriotic and self-sustaining refugee youth who is equipped with the values, knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to contribute positively to their community, uphold their cultural identity, and take active roles in building resilient, empowered, and progressive societies.

Our team

Our strength lies in our individuality. Set up by Esther Bryce, the team strives to bring in the best talent in various fields, from architecture to interior design and sales.
